This strategy game places a large emphasis on buying extras, because if they're not acquired, levels become too hard to beat, besides the title's repetitive action. The game's brisk tutorial is somewhat helpful but doesn't go over everything you need to know - and there isn't an FAQ or other resource kids can consult if they have questions, which may cause some confusion. Kids can also choose to proactively attack areas. Kids engage in battles that are presumably to the death, even though it isn't shown in detail, and characters use weapons ranging from bows and arrows to a battering ram. Although the game isn't graphic, fighting is a big part of it. Kids don't need to buy a subscription to use the app, but they will see a number of promotional messages and possibly notifications that they need to buy additional in-app currency, if they try to add new warriors or other items and haven't earned sufficient funds through playing. The game is free to download, but the developer offers a monthly subscription that provides extra features like unlimited autoplay capabilities in battles. Parents need to know that Stagelands - Eternal Defense is a strategy game for iOS and Android devices.
